Ford Teams with Petty's Garage to Produce Limited-Edition Mustang GT

JACKSON, Mich. - Back in 2008 a Level Cross shop by the name of Petty's Garage opened its doors in North Carolina, specializing in restorations on race car chassis from owner and driver Richard Petty's personal collection. This business quickly transformed into a high-performance speed shop, focusing on bringing "The King's" winning tradition to a variety of performance automobiles. Petty's Garage recently attended the annual SEMA show where they unveiled their own version of the Mustang GT. After receiving nothing but positive feedback from attendees, Ford decided to team with Petty's Garage to produce a fastback limited-edition Mustang GT.

We weren't kidding when we said that this Mustang GT will be a limited-edition. There are only 100 units of the Stage 1 model and an even more exclusive 43 units of the Stage 2 model available. Both versions of the Mustang GT will be built this year and feature a 5.0-liter Ford Racing/Roush supercharger engine underneath the hood, which is expected to produce a massive 627 horsepower! The Stage 1 and Stage 2 models both feature 20-inch Petty's Garage HRE FlowForm wheels, a MagnaFlow exhaust system, and a variety of other customized characteristics. Inside of the limited-edition Mustang GT are embroidered head restraints, floor mats, and a signature on the dashboard from "The King" himself, Richard Petty.

Stage 2 contains all of the same features that are found on the Stage 1 model, but of course, offers consumers a few additional perks. Stage 2 includes a Petty's Garage Wilwood big brake upgrade, a complete Petty's Garage custom two-toned paint job, and Petty's Garage HRE three-piece forged-aluminum wheels! If the Stage 2 sounds the model for you, you'll have to act fast! The first of the 43 available units has already been sold to Brian Johnson of AC/DC. Ford teamed with Petty's Garage to produce a limited-edition Mustang GT that could take even the biggest of rockstar's breaths away. Johnson, who had never owned an American car, said that Petty's Garage limited-edition Mustang GT is "one of the best cars he's ever driven".

Lincoln Introduces "The Music Selfie Experiment"

Lincoln Motor Company has decided to play off of the cultural phenomenon of selfies and has introduced "The Music Selfie Experiment" - a technology-driven marketing campaign that creates individual music tracks based upon users' unique facial feature measurements.

New Ford Focus RS to Feature New Stability Control Technology

JACKSON, Mich. - We have said it before and we will say it again, the Ford Focus RS line has been known to raise the bar when it comes to performance and technology. After the debut of the new Ford Focus RS, which will be going on sale in the United States for the first time ever later this year, we knew it was only a matter of time before Ford would begin to leak some of the incredible technologies that the performance vehicle has to offer.

If you're a Michigander, you are very familiar with spinouts, especially during the winter months. But, what if your vehicle could predict a spinout moments before it happened? Well, Ford decided to make this possible for future drivers. The new Ford Focus RS will feature a new stability control technology that will actively determine when a car meets conditions that may lead to a spinout and help to prevent the driver from losing control.

Here is how it works. The technology detects the vehicle's speed, steering wheel position, and turn rate of the steering wheel to determine if a potential skid is on the horizon. If the vehicle identifies a risk, the brakes are applied to the individual wheels to help the driver keep control of the vehicle and stay on the road. The "recovery process" offered by this transitional stability system is put into motion at an incredibly rapid pace, resulting in smoother, refined control.

The new Ford Focus RS will feature a new stability control technology that combines real-time data from sensors placed throughout the vehicle to predict potential spinouts roughly 100 to 200 milliseconds before they occur. This technology will be a standard on the Focus and is just one of the several control innovations that Ford has developed to improve driving dynamics on the latest Ford Focus RS model.

Ford Adds Jobs to Support 2015 F-150 Demand

JACKSON, Mich. - After many months of hype and anticipation, it should come as no surprise that the all-new F-150 is practically flying off of dealership lots. As of last month, the F-150 sat an average of 12 days on dealer lots and quickly became the Ford vehicle with the fastest turnover rate. Ford Motor Company has added 1,550 jobs to support the 2015 F-150 demand and will be allocating employees amongst four different facilities.

Ford will be adding 1,550 jobs to the Kansas City Assembly, Dearborn Stamping, Dearborn Diversified, and Sterling Axle facilities to support production and consumer demand for the 2015 F-150. The automaker plans to add the positions during the first quarter of 2015, which will then enable them to reach their entry-level allowance outlined in the 2011 UAW-Ford collective bargaining agreement. With the addition of these jobs, approximately 300 to 500 "new traditional" workers will transition from their entry-level wage to a higher hourly wage.

About 900 of these new jobs will be at the Kansas City Assembly, 500 will be split between the Dearborn Stamping and Diversified facilities, and the remaining 150 jobs will be at Sterling Axle. The toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 yet is not only improving the lives of Ford truck customers, but also of those working within these local communities around the nation.
