All-New Ford Focus RS to be Sold in the United States

JACKSON, Mich. - Back in 1968, the Ford RS performance label was born in Cologne, Germany and since has continued to transform the way we see performance vehicles. Now, RS is about to spice things up a bit once again! Today in Cologne, Germany, Ford Motor Company unveiled the all-new Focus RS - a high-performance road car featuring Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control, a new functional design, and a new four-cylinder engine.

So what does that mean for us as consumers? Well to put it simply, the Ford Focus RS will soon offer customers around the globe a performance level like no one has ever seen before. The Ford Focus RS line has been known to push the envelope when it comes to technical breakthroughs, and this all-new RS is no exception. Along with a new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that will produce at least 315 horsepower, the Focus RS will also feature tons of high-performance and innovative engineering that is sure to raise the bar for drivers on the road and on the track. Most exciting of all, the all-new Ford Ford RS will be sold in the United States for the first time ever and is expected to go into production starting late this year!

As we mentioned before, the new Focus RS will feature an innovative Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring. This will provide drivers with exceptional handling capability, traction, and grip without compromising agility and speed. The RS's EcoBoost is an upgraded, comprehensive package that has a similar structure to that of the all-aluminum 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that you will find in the new Mustang. Designers and Ford Performance worked closely together to ensure that the new Focus RS's design met all necessary attributes, specifically when it came to the aerodynamic downforce and balance.
