Ford Motor Company Fund Sponsors Honor Flight for 50 WWII Vets

JACKSON, Mich - Ford Motor Company Fund Sponsors a Honor Flight for 50 World War II Vets from Cleveland and other areas of Ohio. This is the third flight this year, and ninth flight total, that Ford Motor Company Fund has sponsored. Being that the 70th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944, is upon us, the Honor Flights this year are rather significant. Honor Flights are amazing trips organized for eighty to nighty-year-old World War II Honor Flight veterans. These trips give them the opportunity to visit members of Congress, Ford employees and most importantly, the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.  All veterans are accompanied by a volunteer guardian whom will be paying for their own trip. Along with the WWII Memorial, vets and their guardians will also visit memorials dedicated to veterans of the Korean War, Vietnam War, Iwo Jima and the Tomb of the Unknown Solider in the Arlington National Cemetery. 

Ford Motor Company's veteran support began more than 90 years ago when Henry Ford traveled cross-country with 50 Ford Model T's to help transport disabled veterans to their convention. Since 1974, Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Company Fund have donated more than $8 million to veteran organizations. Ford Technical Support Center Opens in Concord, NC!

JACKSON, Mich - On Wednesday, May 14th, it was officially announced that the Ford Technical Support Center Opened in Concord, North Carolina! The highly developed center contains a variety of tools that will help Ford with the development of future performance vehicles and contribute to furthering their success within the motorsports industry. Concord, North Carolina is located smack dab in the middle of the NASCAR research and development center and many race car team headquarters; the perfect home for the facility. The entire 33,000-square-foot center will be in full swing this summer, serving as a prime location for Ford Racing technical support and for teams to create and test their competition vehicles. 

The Ford Technical Support Center that has Opened in Concord, North Carolina is fully stocked with advanced measurement and simulation tools, allowing for rapid and smarter leverage of the latest technology in product development. As of now, the facility will focus mainly on supporting NASCAR teams in the three major touring divisions, eventually opening up to other Ford Racing teams that participate in other series.  One of the most exciting pieces of equipment at the facility is the full-motion platform simulator - think of a race car video game on steroids. This advanced machine allows Ford Racing teams to optimize their setups for individual track configurations and practice ahead of time for an upcoming race. How awesome is that?

Ford India April Sales Up 83 Percent

JACKSON, Mich - Contrary to the challenges the Indian automotive industry has been facing, Ford India was still able to come out on top. Ford India's April Sales were up 83 Percent, selling 13,297 vehicles with both domestic wholesales and exports combined. What a jump this was compared to the 7,270 vehicles sold last year. From a domestic sales standpoint, 6,651 vehicles were sold in April bringing the sales percentage up 66 percent. The company exported a total of 6,646 vehicles this year, a nice increased from the 3,267 last April. It must be said that although Ford India's April Sales were up 83 Percent, the company is still remaining cautious as they anticipate the progressive policy interventions within the Indian automotive sector. 

Along with a large sale increase this April came a new vehicle debut. The 2014 Ford Endeavour, an all-terrain SUV complete with new styling and high-end features, made its grand entrance into the auto industry. The vehicle is sporting a bolder look, which includes new interior and a fresh new grille, bumper and headlamps. The 2014 Ford Endeavour has a premium look, while still maintaing its off-road capabilities.

Alan Mulally Retiring on July 1st; Mark Fields Stepping In President and CEO

JACKSON, Mich - It was announced today that Ford Motor Company's current President and CEO Alan Mulally is retiring on July 1st and Mark Fields will step in as the next President and CEO. Mulally is retiring after almost eight years of leading Ford, ending an exceptionally successful 45-year career. Ford Motor Company has attained 19 consecutive quarters of profitability, developed some of the strongest product lineups in Ford history and has fully committed to the most ambitious global expansion in half a century. 

In 2012, Mark Fields was named Ford's chief operating officer and has been leading all of the global business operations and skill teams -including development, manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, sales and service- for Ford ever since. Fields is truly honored to start his journey leading such an outstanding company and team into the future.
