Ford GT Named "Best Production Vehicle" at 2015 NAIAS

JACKSON, Mich. - If you happened to catch our last blog post, you'll know that Ford Motor Company kicked off the 2015 North American Auto Show by unveiling a trio of performance vehicles. There is one performance vehicle in particular that the public just cannot stop talking about and that is the ulta-high-performance Ford GT supercar!

There is a good reason for all of this chatter, too! Within 24 hours the Ford GT gained some serious recognition and was named "Best Production Vehicle" at the 2015 NAIAS by EyesOn Design. EyesOn Design are the official design awards for the North American International Auto Show, responsible for awarding the best production and concept vehicles making global debuts at the show. The board of judges for EyesOn Design is made up of current and former design leaders from global automakers and transportation departments at top art schools. 

Is there really a reason to question the Ford GT being named the "Best Production Vehicle" at the 2015 NAIAS? The all-new GT is Ford's way of showing their commitment to innovation through performance. Every slope and shape on the Ford GT has been strategically placed to minimize drag. Even the active rear spoiler was designed with a purpose. The spoiler is keyed to both speed and driver input, then will deploy and adjust its height and/or pitch angle depending on the conditions.  

Between the GT's twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine boasting 600-plus-horsepower and its seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle that provides smooth and almost-instant gear changes, we have no doubt that the right vehicle earned this title. As we've mentioned before, it is going to be a little while before we see this bad boy in showrooms. The Ford GT is expected to go on sale in 2016.
