FordPass Creates Deeper Relationship Between Automaker and Consumer

FordPass Creates Deeper Relationship Between Automaker and Consumer

JACKSON, Mich. –– FordPass was an idea birthed from the minds of customer experience geniuses and Ford employees during a three day camp-out in Detroit with goals of bettering consumers' lives. FordPass will create a deeper relationship between automaker and consumer by providing mobility solutions.

FordPass is a free platform that will be available this Spring to Ford owners and non-Ford owners alike. The platform was the result of a meeting based around the idea of reimagining the relationship between automaker and consumer. Ford has been making moves to be not only a car company but also a mobility company, and FordPass seems to meet that goal, along with creating a seamless consumer experience.

“As we’ve studied the mobility challenges people face, we designed FordPass to help provide services that make consumers’ lives easier,” said Fields. “FordPass is really about listening to people’s needs and developing ways to help them move better.”

Whether it's booking parking in advanced or using the live 24/7 FordGuides to find a better way to get around, FordPass aims to meet and solve the mobility challenges a consumer will face each day. Some things you will be able to do with FordPass include:
  • Book and pay for parking using FordPay
  • Easily connect with a preferred dealer to schedule maintenance
  • Remote start, lock/unlock, check fuel levels, etc.
  • FordGuides to help reserve parking and help with other mobility challenges
  • Earn rewards for affinity partners like McDonald's by simply using FordPass

FordPass will also include the opening of FordHubs, which will be urban storefronts for the purpose of helping solve mobility problems with live FordGuides, viewing mobility options with real-time mobility maps of the city, and special events & vehicle releases.

FordPass is part of Ford Smart Mobility, which will take the company further in mobility, customer experience, autonomous vehicles, and connectivity. The platform will launch in April 2016. For more information and updates, go to MyFordPass.com.

Ford has plenty of connectivity technology to take advantage of now, like Ford SYNC, and the future of Ford looks bright for consumer experience and the Ford vehicle lineup. The vehicles in the current lineup, including the Ford Escape, Ford Focus, and Ford Fiesta, come with SYNC, which will allow you to start your car and check diagnostics from your phone through FordPass starting this spring.
