JACKSON, Mich.– When it comes to awards, Ford might as well
tell judging panels to “keep ‘em coming", especially after Ford vehicles win Best Retained Value awards from Edmunds.com.
The 2015 Ford Transit Connect van– the Edmunds.com 2015 Best
Retained Value Small Commercial Van– and F-350 Super Duty pickup– the
Edmunds.com 2015 Best Retained Value Heavy Duty Truck– were recognized with the
award on the basis that they have the highest projected residual values after 5
years considering their average True Market Value price when sold new.
Residual value is the most conclusive factor for determining
a vehicle’s total cost of ownership, which is why it’s something to write home
about when Ford vehicles win Best
Retained Value awards. Awards like these give clout to Ford vehicles and
assure their reliability for consumers.
Edmunds.com evaluated model year 2015 vehicles introduced at
the end of 2014 that had unit sales in February 2015 at or more than 25 percent
of the average unit sales for their market segment. The data behind the awards says it all. Edmunds.com
concluded the average retained value for the Transit Connect after five years
is 47 percent, and 58.5 percent for the F-350 Super Duty.
The Transit Connect deserves an honorable mention in the
wake of receiving the Edmunds.com award, as it was also named ALG’s Best Resale
Value for midsize commercial vans. In addition, the Transit Connect XLT
short-wheelbase midsize van earned the Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America
award in the Mini Passenger Commercial Van Category in April.
