Ford Launches $1 Million Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship Program

JACKSON, Mich - In light of many years of exceptional leadership and dedication to Ford Motor Company as CEO, Ford will launch a $1 Million Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship Program. Ford will run the program for 10 years starting the spring of 2015 and during that time they will distribute $10,000 scholarships to 10 outstanding sophomore or junior engineering students each year. Funding has been provided by both Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Company Fund, who have each given $500,000 to the scholarship program.

In order for a student to obtain an Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship, they should not only demonstrate fantastic engineering abilities in the classroom, but exemplify the traits of someone who will guide the next generation of leaders within the automobile industry. Alan Mulally has both an engineering background and a data-driven decision making mindset, which is what helped to set the bar of outstanding leadership at Ford Motor Company.  

The Alan Mulally scholarship program will be managed by the Ford Fund as apart of its "Ford Blue Oval Scholars" initiative. Students who have been granted a scholarship will be connected with Ford's corporate science, technology, engineering and math strategic (STEM) initiative. With these scholarships, Ford education efforts are further supported and will help to develop a new generation of leaders within the STEM fields.
