Ford to Sell First Shelby GT350 Mustang to Benefit JDRF

Ford to Sell First Shelby GT350 Mustang to Benefit JDRF
JACKSON, Mich. - In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350 Mustang, Ford Motor Company will be auctioning off the first production unit of the all-new Shelby GT350 Mustang at the Barrett-Jackson Auction on Saturday, January 17th in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The winning bidder will acquire much more than an all-new Shelby GT350 Mustang, they will also gain the satisfaction in knowing that their generous contribution is going directly to the country's leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research. Ford is selling the first Shelby GT350 Mustang to benefit JDRF, an organization that the company has supported since 1983. Along with the auction of the new Shelby, Ford will also have several of its 2015 models at the event, including the Mustang, Expedition, and F-150, for ride-and-drives for auction attendees. Even the Shelby American-built GT500 Super Snake and Shelby Focus ST will be available for a "hot lap" experience with professional drivers from Miller Motorsports Park.

Ford took the most advanced Mustang of all time and tweaked every aspect that contributes to the car's overall driving experience to create the Shelby GT350 Mustang. Under the Shelby's hood is the first V8 from Ford with a flat-place crankshaft - a design typically used for exotic European sports cars - that puts out more than 500 horsepower and more than 400 lb.-ft. of torque! Of course with an engine this powerful, you need a reliable set of breaks. Not to worry, the GT350 features the most track-worthy brake system that Ford has ever offered in terms of power and fade resistance!
