Ford Explorer Celebrates 25 Years of Innovation with New 2016 Model

JACKSON, Mich. - It has been 25 years since the Explorer made its mark within the Ford lineup. The Platinum series will also have the very first all-new 500-watt Sony Audio System with Live Acoustics and Clear Phase technology - eliminating sound dispersion throughout the vehicle and providing a more realistic sound.

An available 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine delivering at least 270 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft of torque sits under the 2016 Explorer's hood. EPA results are not yet available, but Ford is sure that this new engine will not compromise the overall fuel efficiency of the Explorer. The Explorer is known to be a gas mileage leader on the highway and Ford Motor Company intends on keeping it that way!
