JACKSON, Mich. –– As we move towards the end of the year and prepare for festive celebrations that will take place at tables set with warm, holiday meals, Ford Motor Co. is helping feed the homeless out of a converted Ford Transit van with The Salvation Army.
The Ford Transit 350 HD with a 3.5L V6 engine is customized with a sink, refrigerator, food preparation space,
service window, and cabinets. The Salvation Army is serving meals out of the
Ford Transit to homeless men and women in Washington as part of the
organizations Grate Patrol program.
The Grate Patrol program is a nightly venture involving the
delivery of 150 healthy meals, snacks, and hydration throughout Washington. Ford
is one of the chief donors who helped fund The Salvation Army’s converted Transit van to feed the homeless,
and Ford employees also gave their time to help serve meals from the van during
its debut night.
