Limited Edition Shelby GT350 & GT350R Released for 50th Anniversary

2015 Ford F-150 Named Greenest Pickup Truck

Ford Patents 11-Speed Transmission

JACKSON, Mich. – Why bother with an 8-speed, 9-speed, or even 10-speed when you can do the unthinkable with an 11-speed automatic transmission? You heard that right. Eleven Speed Automatic Transmission. You're probably thinking, but an 11-speed transmission doesn't even exist. YET. Ford just patented an 11-speed automatic transmission!

While exciting details regarding the transmission's capability and specifications are still super mysterious, the news alone that Ford Motor Company applied for a patent on an 11-speed transmission gets our heart rate pumping. With their 10-speed automatic, Ford partnered with General Motors on the transmission's development, but with the 11-speed it looks like Ford is going solo. The patent application indicates the use of planetary gearsets, which leads us to believe the 11-speed will be a conventional, torque-converter automatic.

In the name of the game, we now get to wait it out until additional details are released. But we definitely can't wait to get our hands on more information because more gears means more efficiency! Stay tuned!

Lincoln Continental Production to Begin in 2016

JACKSON, Mich. – The Lincoln Continental Concept made its official debut at the New York International Auto Show and it hasn't left the spotlight since! An exciting moment for those tried and true fans of the classic Continental, but the new concept also appeals to modern tastes with its uber luxurious interior and speculated specifications. Of course as a concept nothing is guaranteed, but we've got the inside scoop and all signs point to the production version of the Lincoln Continental being produced next year!

Ford hasn't bothered to keep the game plan under wraps – revealing that they're wasting no time producing a vehicle similar to the Lincoln Continental Concept unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. Even better, CEO Mark Fields said the concept is a "very strong hint" of what the production version will look like!

Production of the new Lincoln Continental is expected to begin in 2016, at which point we will be able to better identify exact features and specifications for the luxury car. One exclusive feature we're looking forward to is a new version of Ford's EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine, that is said to be reserved for the Lincoln brand.

Aluminum 2015 Ford F-150 Loses Weight All Over

JACKSON, Mich. – By now when you hear 2015 Ford F-150 you likely immediately think: aluminum body. The new Ford Motor Company pickup truck has made all sorts of headlines after dropping 700 pounds; a dramatic weight loss that has been attributed to the truck's use of aluminum rather than steel. While a huge portion of the F-150's weight loss is thanks to the aluminum body, there are also a few other areas throughout the truck that Ford was able to save a few pounds.

Through the use of aluminum body panels, the 2015 Ford F-150 lost a whopping 450 lbs., which means the truck shed weight in many other areas as well to achieve a total slim down of 700 lbs. But where? Comprising the remaining 250 pounds, the 2015 Ford F-150 dropped weight in the front bumper structure, steering knuckles, magnesium four wheel drive exterior transfer case, mechanical parking break, and in the rear differential, as well as through the use of high-strength steel which allows the truck to use less of the material without compromising quality. But Ford didn't stop there. Weight was shed from the interior as well in the front seat system, rear seat, and dashboard underpinnings.
