JACKSON, Mich - On April 16-17th, the All-new 2015 Ford Mustang is Going to New Heights. How high do you ask? Oh, roughly 86 stories. With the 50th birthday of the Ford Mustang right around the corner, it is time to recognize another event hitting its 50 year mark. Nearly 50 years go, the Ford Mustang made its way to the observation deck of the Empire State Building and will be re-creating the feat again this coming April.

Climbing 86 stories with a Ford Mustang is no easy task. Firstly, there is no portable crane that can reach the height of the observation deck. There also is no way for helicopter delivery with the spire towering above the narrow deck. So, the Mustang must take the elevator. Roughly 50 years ago when the Ford Mustang was displayed on the observation deck, it was cut up into three main sections so it would fit into the elevator. This is the best and only option for the Mustang once again. Computer engineering data has made it possible for team members to prepare the display car and find the precise areas to make the cuts. As the pieces of the puzzle make their way to the top, technicians will have six hours to reassemble the 2015 Mustang to its iconic state.

As the world continues to change and develop, Ford has made an effort to always keep the curriculum relevant and engaging for new/teen drivers. Ford Driving Skills for Life is different from any traditional drivers education course, helping new drivers develop other skills that lead to making safe driving choices as they head out on the road. 

Since 2003, Ford Driving Skills for Life program has implemented the importance of "hands on the wheel, eyes on the road" when driving. As times have changed, Ford found it necessary to constantly add content to the program based on the latest trends that new drivers would face. One of the newest additions to the program is the danger of "driving selfies". The hazardous trend of taking a self-portrait while driving has grown so rapidly that Ford has created a special segment demonstrating to drivers the distractions associated with taking a driving selfie. 

To address impaired driving concerns, Ford Driving Skills for Life has added a "drunk driving" suit to the program. Currently, goggles are used to show the disorientation that alcohol causes, but now the suit will demonstrate how alcohol impairs the driver physically by weighing down the student's arms and legs. The drunk driving suit throws off balance and demonstrates how reflexes and movements are impaired for a driver under the influence. 

Ford Driving Skills for Life is continuing to grow, helping new/teen drivers in more than 15 countries around the world. "Spring Clean" Your Car Like a Pro

JACKSON, Mich - Are you ready for it? Warm sunshine, flowers blooming, green grass. These all may seem like distant thoughts, but before we know it we will be enjoying window-down weather! After this terrible winter, we can almost guarantee that your car is in need of a deep cleaning. We know at times a good scrub down for your car can be expensive. This is exactly why we are here to offer you some easy tips on how to "Spring Clean" Your Car Like a Pro. 

1. First off, clean out your trash. Remove all of that junk that you have been forgetting about in the back seat, trunk and of course, the glovebox. Grab a trash bag and a "save it" box and start sifting through it all. Be careful, don't mistake your proof of insurance and registration for trash!

2. Scrub and vacuum those carpets. There is no doubt salt, dirt and winter grime are packed into your carpets and floor matts. Give the car a good vacuum (use a screw driver to loosen the dirt and dust in tight corners) and then use a carpet cleaner with a scrub brush to get underneath the dirt. Take the floor rugs out of the car while they dry; this avoids leaving a wet stench and potential mold growth in your car!

3. Check those tires. If you have summer and winter tires, swap those out as soon as possible to keep your winter tires in mint condition. Otherwise, check inflation levels and head to Seymour Ford Service Center for a tire rotation or wheel alignment. 

4. Replace your wiper blades. After this winter, your wiper blades probably took a real beating! Swapping out your old wiper blades for new ones will help ensure you have proper visibility while driving this spring. Also, keep in mind that your wiper blades need some help on the job - so fill up your washer fluid!

5. Flush our the underbody of your vehicle. Salt, snow, dirt and endless amounts of grime can build up underneath your vehicle during the winter. Be sure to rinse off the undercarriage of your vehicle to prevent rusting and other damages to your vehicle.

6. Wipe down the entire inside of your car. Even if the windows haven't been down all winter, dust can still build up - especially on the dashboard! Leaving dust all over your car can actually cause aesthetic damage to your interior.

No Body Double Necessary for the Ford Mustang in "Need for Speed"

JACKSON, Mich - No Body Double Necessary for the Ford Mustang in "Need for Speed" because this time around, the 2014 Ford Mustang GT had done all of its own stunts. Director Scott Waugh, felt that this film needed an authentic touch and that computer-generated images just wouldn't do. As former stuntman, Waugh understands the law of physics and that in order to execute a realistic film, you have to keep the physics in touch with the characters and storyline.

For superhero, science fiction and fantasy films, computer-generated images are the perfect choice. However, for telling the story of Toby Marshall's journey across the country, this requires more believable shots. Seven modified 2014 Ford Mustangs were used for filming -only three survived- and were all strategically shot to give the audience that thrilling ride experience  More than 40 different digital cameras were used to get all of the needed angles and images of the Mustang. When on-the-road sequences were shot, a Supercharged 2013 Mustang GT was used as a camera car to capture the close-in action shots.

Actors who were lucky enough to get behind the wheel of the hero car were required to take a training course at the Willow Springs International Motorsports Park in California. They were taught how to handle the Mustang when drifting around corners and how to hit the precise marks the director wanted when driving. Professional stunt drivers, like Vaughn Gittin Jr. for instance, required no additional training. Gittin is a champion drifter and easily whipped the 2015 Ford Mustang around to the exact place Scott Waugh wanted it.

It is "Ford Accelerated Action Day"!

JACKSON, Mich - It is "Ford Accelerated Action Day" and Ford Volunteer Corps are gaining the help from over 500 Ford employees to brighten up local communities. Southeastern Michigan will be seeing plenty of Ford faces around the area today as they work for children and families within the community.

Ford employees will be renovating family centers, painting shelters and assisting in the building of homes around southeast Michigan. Several organizations will be sharing more than $57,000 in Ford grants that will provide tools, supplies and any materials needed to complete the projects. Today, Ford Motor Company is focusing on high-priority projects around the community. The company is utilizing their people and recourses to the best of their ability to help provide a brighter and prosperous community.

Ford Motor Company has partnered with the following nonprofit organizations, which will receive up to $5,000 in Ford grants for the projects:

- Arts & Scraps, Detroit – Organize and inventory robots materials
- Focus: Hope, Detroit – Create family literacy area at Center for Children
- Girl Scouts of SE Michigan, Detroit – Assemble learning kits for girls
- Grandmont Rosedale Development, Detroit – Transform vacant house into a family’s home
- Habitat for Humanity, Monroe – Install flooring and hang kitchen cabinets
- Junior Achievement, Detroit – Assist students with financial literacy exercises
- Matrix Human Services, Detroit – Pack baby shower baskets with infant necessities
- Methodist Children’s Home, Redford – Clean, paint and create a sensory wall
- Northville Community Foundation, Northville – Secure flooring in Maybury Farm barn
- Penrickton Center, Taylor – Restore resonance boards and repaint murals
- Ruth Ellis Center, Detroit – Paint residential facility
- Salvation Army, Denby Center, Detroit – Refresh residential cottages
- Starfish Family Services, Inkster – Participate in literacy activities with children
- Vista Maria, Dearborn Heights – Paint interior common areas and living quarters for girls
- World Medical Relief, Detroit – Assemble basic hygiene kits

Vehicle preparation for these tests takes any where from a few days to a few weeks depending on the complexity of the test. But, once the tests are complete, the team can receive all of the data in just under 30 minutes!

Lincoln Will Make Their First Appearance at Barrett-Jackson Auction in April

JACKSON, Mich - On April 11th through the 13th, the public will see a first for the 96-year old Lincoln Motor Company. Lincoln Will Make Their First Appearance at the Barrett-Jackson Auction this spring by debuting the all-new 2015 MKC and the revamped 2015 Navigator utilities at the event in Palm Beach, Florida. 

That's right folks, for the first time in company history, Lincoln will finally be attending a Barrett-Jackson Auction Company event. This year's event just so happens to be in sunny, Palm Beach, Florida - coincidence? We don't think so, haha! Lincoln will be offering attendees special driving experiences in their 2014 lineup of vehicles at the event. These vehicles will include the MKZ midsize premium sedan, the MKZ Hybrid, MKZ midsize premium utility, MKS full-size premium sedan, the current Navigator, and the MKT seven-passenger premium crossover. 

Along with the excitement of Lincoln making their first appearance at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in April, they will be debuting two of the latest editions to the Lincoln lineup. The new Lincoln MKC is a savvy small premium utility vehicle equipped with a 285-horsepower turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost® and an endless amount of new features. Along with the MKC, Lincoln will showcase the significant upgrades to the 2015 Navigator that will soon offer customers a completely different level of elegance.

King Ranch and Ford's 15 Years of Partnership Celebration

JACKSON, Mich - In 1999, started the beginning of Ford Motor Company and King Ranch's beautiful frienship. For the last 15 years, the partnership have shared mutual philosophies of authenticity, toughness, integrity, and quality. King Ranch and Ford's 15 Years of Partnership Celebration has resulted in the debut of three new 2015 King Ranch edition trucks as well as a beautiful gallery of photos taken by Texas photographer, Wyman Meinzer. Meinzer has captured the authenticity that Ford and the ranch's partnership represent.

With over 4,000 photos, Wyman Meinzer captured the three latest King Ranch edition trucks in their natural habitat, on the King Ranch in Kingsville, Texas. As a born and raised cowboy, Meinzer knows what it takes to capture the true essence and beauty of both the ranch and trucks. "Need for Speed" Mustang Will Soon Be Up for Grabs

JACKSON, Mich - The "Need for Speed" Mustang will soon be up for grabs come the eve of April 12th at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in West Palm Beach, Florida. The custom-designed 2014 Ford Mustang GT will be offered to bidders with all proceeds benefitting the Henry Ford Health System. This non-profit group was actually founded by Henry Ford himself, working to improve the health and well-being of a diverse community.

The highly anticipated film "Need for Speed" will be auctioning off its biggest star, and no we are not talking about actor, Aaron Paul. The 2014 Mustang GT will be up for grabs to one lucky bidder on April 12th at the Barrett-Jackson Auction. The car was designed specifically with the movie in mind, shaping the iconic pony car into the ultimate "hero car". The Mustang has a wide-body design sitting on special Forgiato 22-inch alloy wheels. The car has a several other unique features like a larger lower grille, new air intakes, extended rocker panels, a twin-snorkel hood, and low-profile mirrors. 

For the bidders who do not walk away with the 2014 Mustang GT, there will still be plenty of Ford fun for them to enjoy! Ford Motor Company will be offering ride-and-drive experiences of its 2014 line up for the attendees as well as hot-laps in the Shelby GT500, Focus ST, and Fiesta ST.
